100 DAYS OF SCHIZANDRA: A CHALLENGE TO THOSE WHO DARE (TO GLOW)!

Schizandra is a very highly regarded herb in Asia and Europe, and historically been used to make wine, tea, and traditional Chinese herbal elixirs.

It is also known as a herb that will literally transform the person taking it, physically and emotionally, and the prescription of 100 Days of this wonder-herb piqued our interest.

The History of the Challenge

We first heard of this practice through the wonderful work of Master Ron Teeguarden, author of the awesome book, The Ancient Wisdom of the Chinese Tonic Herbs.

Master Teeguarden is the premier tonic herbalist in the West, and when he first was introduced to the tonic herbs his teacher Master Sung Jin Park. Schizandra was reportedly one of Master Park’s favourite herbs, and Master Park suggested Ron Teeguarden take schizandra for 100 days straight in order to transform his life.

If used for 100 days successively, Master Teeguarden notes:

“Schizandra is said to purify the blood, sharpen the mind, improve memory, rejuvenate the Kidney energy...and cause the skin to become radiantly beautiful….People who start taking Schizandra regularly all change for the better. Their skin virtually glows and becomes clear and fine after several months."

Legendary Taoist Master Li Qing Yuen also claims that a diet of tonic herbs, including schizandra and goji (included together in our Beauty Blend), allowed him to live for more than 200 years, while still looking like a young man…it’s certainly worth a shot! :)

Sun Simiao, a herbalist known as the ‘King’ of Traditional Chinese Medicine, says, “take Schisandrae Fructus regularly to replenish the Qi of the five visceral organs and nourish the body.”

The SuperFeast Challenge

At Superfeast HQ we’re all about the radiance and the glow and the nourishing of the body and the living to a ripe old age with lots of vitality.

So we’ve decided to take the 100 Days of Schizandra challenge to see what kinds of results we get.

We’ll share our before and after shots in 100 days, but we wanted to invite you to take the challenge with us!!

Wanna get on the Schiz-wagon?

The traditional prescription handed down by the Taoists is 1 Tbs of dried schizandra berries a day - our extract is a 10:1 extract, which means for every 10kgs of berries we use we get 1kg of extract, so we’re taking 1 level tsp (which weighs about 2.3 g) of our SuperFeast extract a day (assuming 1 Tbs of berries is around 20g), just to be sure.

You’ll need about 250g of extract to do the 100 day challenge - 87c a day for radiance, longevity and energy? Sounds like a great deal to us!! However, for those of you trying the 100 Days, we’re offering a special discount, 10% off all bulk schizandra products (250g, 500g and 1kg) with the code 100daysofschiz

We’ve had some of our SuperFeast community try the 100 Days with AMAZING results, so we can’t wait to share ours with you too!

Keep us posted if you’re trying it, we’d love to hear how you go.

And don't forget...if you miss a day, back to the start with you!! (Ed's note: I've already had to start again twice. Lol.)

Just as the herb schizandra has lived on through the millennia, healing and nurturing humankind, we're hoping that you too will enjoy increased longevity with this beautiful herb.

Can I do the challenge while also taking the beauty blend each day as well or will that be too much?

Hello, i want to take the 100 day shizandra challenge, and wondering would you suggest taking the shizandra on it’s own or the beauty blend for the challenge?
Thanks!
