Description

Lions Mane (Hericium erinacaeus) is a revered nootropic and adaptogenic mushroom used for millennia to help sharpen focus, boost memory, and nurture overall neural vitality. This unique mushroom also supports digestive and gastrointestinal health, and immune function.

Modern science is now catching up to this ancient wisdom, as laboratory tests identify bioactive constituents like hericenones and erinacines in Lion’s Mane responsible for neuroprotective, neurotropic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and immunomodulatory actions.

These potent compounds are also linked to Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) production, a key contributor to neuronal development, repair and regeneration,

Our time-tested Dì Dào (地道) sourcing method, coupled with our 10:1 Huo Hou (火候) extraction process, ensure all compounds are delivered the way nature intended and at 10 x potency,

The powers contained within the shaggy white spines of this functional mushroom’s mane have attracted everyone from Buddhist monks in search of deeper meditation, to contemporary biohackers looking to optimise cognitive function.

Increasingly, Lion’s Mane serves as potent fuel for educational, occupational, and entrepreneurial efficiency - particularly leading up to tests, deadlines, and submissions. Humorously, a brief shortage of Lion’s Mane at SuperFeast HQ caused an uproar amongst herb-loving university students during exam time.

We now do everything in our power to ensure we never run out of Lion’s Mane again.

Lion’s Mane Mushroom FAQs

In traditional Chinese medicine, Lion’s Mane is used to support mental clarity, nourish Spleen Qi, and strengthen the body’s cognitive system. It is revered for promoting long-term nerve health, improving memory, and helping maintain mental sharpness into later life. Lion’s Mane mushroom extract is also widely used as a natural nootropic for daily support of brain health, learning capacity, and concentration.
Yes. Lion’s Mane mushroom is one of the most well-known herbs for focus, memory, and recall. It’s used traditionally to enhance learning, reduce mental / brain fog, and support attention span, and its compounds have recently been studied for their potential to stimulate NGF - a key player in brain plasticity. For these reasons and more, Lion’s Mane is especially useful for students, professionals, and anyone seeking better brain performance, or help maintaining cognitive vitality and focus across all stages of life.
Absolutely. Though popularly known as a nootropic, Lion’s Mane has gentle yet considerable adaptogenic qualities. It helps calm the nervous system, stabilise emotional fluctuations, and has been studied for its potential to support neuroplasticity and mood resilience over time. This makes Lion’s Mane powder a supportive daily ritual for people navigating long work hours, study pressure, or emotional fatigue.
Yes. In addition to cognitive benefits, Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) is traditionally used to support digestion and gastrointestinal health, especially via the Spleen and Stomach systems in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Its dual action on the gut-brain axis makes it uniquely harmonising. Because the brain and gut are closely linked, Lion’s Mane mushroom is often chosen for support with nervous digestion and gut-based emotional tension.
Yes. Lion’s Mane is a tonic herb, traditionally taken daily over long periods. Many people experience the most benefit after a period of consistent use. It’s safe for ongoing support of mental clarity, nerve strength, and immune vitality. Long-term use of Lion’s Mane mushroom extract may help maintain neuroprotection and healthy ageing of the brain. Of course, if ever unsure, consult your healthcare practitioner.
We use only the fruiting body, never mycelium, and source it Dì Dào (地道) from traditional Chinese growing regions. Our dual-extraction process preserves the full spectrum of active compounds at a 10:1 potency, and our products are 3rd-party tested for purity, potency, and safety. This ensures every serving of SuperFeast Lion’s Mane provides a maximum-potency, filler-free extract with maximum cognitive and nerve-supporting compounds.
Lion’s Mane is generally well tolerated, but may have mild blood-thinning properties. Use caution if you’re taking anticoagulant medications or planning surgery. Always consult your health professional if you’re unsure. Those with mushroom allergies or undergoing treatment for neurological conditions should also seek practitioner guidance before use.
Yes - Lion’s Mane pairs beautifully with Qi tonics, Jing herbs, and even Reishi or Ashwagandha depending on your focus. It plays especially well in morning and midday rituals for focus and sustained energy. For cognitive synergy, it’s commonly stacked with Cordyceps, Eucommia, or Rhodiola in Taoist herbal blends.

Lifting Brain Fog & Studying Smarter!

"I’ve decided to go back to school in midlife to study Chinese Medicine, and I have a bunch of chronic illnesses. I’m so so excited and happy to say this adding SF Lions Mane has improved my focus and cognitive abilities dramatically, really clearing the normal brain fog. I can’t thank you guys enough for what you do and care for - with these extracts. Having a Jing, black sesame and now lions mane latte in the mornings… turning my world around to believe in self again, and to new heights with learning."

Improved memory and focus

"Lion's mane has been a trial and error mushroom for me. I originally started it a year ago, but found it too activating for me, so I stopped. I have epilepsy, thus have a very sensitive nervous system. In the past year I have re-introduced it a few times, but still found it too activating. So I just kept with my routine of Reishi, Shen and Ashwagandha to help rebuild the system slowly. 2 months ago I started taking LM daily again (1/4 tsp, then gradually increased to 1 tsp daily), and have been able to stick with it. I am finally experiencing the amazing benefits and my nervous system is now in a place to absorb, utilize and truly appreciate it. My cognition and focus are constantly improving, and I feel more capable each day! My memory has been a huge problem for about 15 years, due to head injuries from seizures. I have tried so many ways to support this. Lion's mane is finally making the difference. My short & long term recall is improving each day and I just feel more confident! Thanks lions mane!"

Pantry staple

"One of my favorite mushrooms and a must in my pantry. Love it."

Nina K. (5/5)

Brain injury recovery!

"I've been taking Lions Mane for a while now to assist with functioning as a business owner and tradesman. A few months ago I had severe head trauma with a workplace injury. Multiple skull fractures and a bleed on the brain. The neurosurgeons told me that it would take 12-18 months to fully recover. I'm not even 2 months in and am back at work already. My cognition and general well being is amazing. I attribute my very fast recovery from this to solid rest, a quality diet and Lions Mane. Damien Cole's story is very similar and resonates very strongly. I'm keeping an eye on my health and making sure that I don't over do it. I feel blessed and lucky to be here and I can continue to be the man I wish to be for myself and my family."

Ron (5/5)

No brain fog and more energy

"I am OBSESSED with this product. I have it every day in my morning coffee, and it has provided brain clarity, energy, and I feel focused throughout the day. There is nothing on the market like this, and I love that it's Australian. Would highly recommend this product to everyone. You do need to take it consistently to feel the benefits. I felt the full benefits after 3-4 weeks, and it was amazing."

Emily A. (5/5)

Q&A

Is your lion's mane dual extracted?
Hey Vu, thanks for your question! Our Lion's Mane is water extracted. SF x
Hi there. Can you please advise if your lion’s mane contains vitamin B6, and if so how much? Thanks.
Hey Andrew, it's hard to say exactly as we do not standardise our products, nor do we focus on isolated compounds. We believe in the medicinal value of the whole herb. We use traditional extraction methods to ensure that the full range of medicinal compounds and energetic qualities are extracted from our herbs. We feel this results in a potent product that is just as nature intended. We never synthetically isolate, manipulate or standardise our herbs for particular active constituents. Mushrooms are generally quite high in B6, however Lion's Mane is usually lower than some other mushrooms...but as mentioned, it's not something we can give exact quantities on.
Hi, I am just wondering if the lions name can be taken for children ages 10 to assist with focus and working memory.
Hey, yes they sure can! Please email us on team@superfeast.com.au for more information around dosage etc x
Hi! Do you know the % of beta glucans in this lions mane?
Hey Jenna, we can not specify the exact level of beta-glucans, mainly because there is no recognised testing method. there is no standard, accepted, validated methodology in the industry to test beta-glucans. The most commonly employed assays for determination of beta-glucan content can only detect soluble beta-glucans; the insoluble beta-glucans remain undetected. Beta-glucans differ in their solubilities depending on their size, functionality, and interaction with other molecules. If you would like a more in depth explanation of this please email us on hello@superfeast.com and we would love to chat with you further! x
Can you take your products when pregant? Any to avoid?
Hello, Please email our customer service crew at team@superfeast.com.au where we can give you more information about our herbs during pregnancy xxx
Is this gluten and dairy free?
It sure is! All of our products are dairy and gluten free :)
Hi, is the lions mane made with the fruiting body and certified organic (usda) sorry if it repeated question
Hey Margaret Thanks for reaching out! We use the fruiting body for all our mushrooms, with the exception of Cordyceps where we use the mycelium. Our herbs are not organic. Our herbs are Di dao (地道) - this is an ancient practice where herbs are cultivated and sourced in pristine locations from their spiritual homeland. We believe Di Dao herbs surpass the quality and essence that certified organic herbal extracts have. They are grown very far from industrial zones, and the farmers and herbalists that cultivate our medicinal extracts are specialised in this ancient lineage of herbal cultivation. x Sam
Ou vous trouver en France ?
Hey Poly, You can order from our International website www.superfeast.com.au to ship to France. At this stage we do not have any local suppliers in Europe x Sarah
Do you have lab tests for any of mushrooms? To test for heavy metals?
Hey Jacob! We test all our products, In both China and Australia. We test for: Aflatoxins, Heavy Metals, Pesticides and Microbiological Data. We also obtain fingerprint chromatography for each of our herbs, this ensures each herb is correctly identified as the species we want to work with (eg. red reishi is Ganoderma lucidum - botanical name). If you are interested in seeing a CoA for any of our herbs, please email us and we will send it through. x Sam
Hi, I found the answer to my question. I didn't realize you were growing in China and wondered how you could import the species to Byron. All good. thanks
Hey Marty, I have responded to your previous question thread. As you say we prefer to source medicinal mushrooms and tonic herbs that have been traditionally grown as per the Di Dao. Di Dao is an ancient practice that loosely translates to sourcing something from its 'original place' or 'spiritual homeland. If you would like to learn more about our sourcing, testing and processing practices please visit our website and use the search bar to research the topics you are interested in or reach out to us on team@superfeast.com.au We are always happy to answer any questions and connect :) x SF
