Description

A cornerstone of the SuperFeast apothecary, Mason’s Mushrooms is a vitalising blend of 8 of the world’s most potent medicinal mushrooms.

Formulated by our founder and master herbalist, Mason Taylor, this functional mushroom blend is designed to support digestive health, immunity, sustained energy, and sharper focus. It also enhances overall vitality, supports balanced mood and hormone function, and uniquely promotes gut health.

Featuring the combined power of Cordyceps ( Cordyceps sinensis cultivated CS-4), Maitake (Grifola frondosa), Poria (Wolfiporia cocos), Shiitake (Lentinula edodes), Agaricus (Agaricus blazei), Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus), Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), and Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) - each selected for their revered traditional uses and modern-day applications.

Made from Dì Dào (地道) sourced mushroom fruiting bodies, grown on wood - just as Taoist herbalists prescribed over 2,000 years ago.

This is not a trend blend. This is a full-spectrum 10:1 extract prepared using the Huo-Hou (火候) method - a time-honoured technique applying optimal heat and pressure for peak potency, thoughtfully composed for long-term use across the shifting seasons of life.

While compounds like beta-glucans, polysaccharides, triterpenes, and cordycepin are naturally present, our focus is not on isolating or standardising them. We honour the complete biochemical and energetic profile of each mushroom - as used in traditional Taoist and Classical Chinese medicine for millennia.

Mason’s Mushrooms is loved by parents, thinkers, creators, and anyone seeking a resilient system and sustainable energy - as well as those navigating burnout, immune depletion, recovery, or digestive imbalance.

FAQs

Mason’s Mushrooms is a herbalist-formulated functional mushroom blend, supporting gut health, immune function, cognitive clarity, energy, and mood regulation - through the alchemy of 8 of the world's most potent medicinal mushrooms. Traditionally used in Taoist herbalism and Chinese Medicine to: - Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris) - enhance energy and stamina - Maitake (Grifola frondosa) and Poria (Wolfiporia cocos) - promote gut health and digestion - Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) and Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) - help regulate immune function - Agaricus (Agaricus subrufescens) - support immune and cellular health - Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) - support cognition, memory, brain health and nerve function - Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) - promote emotional balance, calm the spirit, and support deep, restorative sleep This full-spectrum, 10:1 extract is formulated as a daily tonic to support digestion, immunity, cognitive clarity, mood, energy, and whole-body vitality. It can be taken in capsule form or as a mushroom powder mixed into your favourite drink or food.
Mushrooms like Poria (Wolfiporia cocos) and Maitake (Grifola frondosa) have long been used in Chinese medicine to regulate digestion, ease bloating, and support healthy elimination. These mushrooms contain naturally occurring polysaccharides, which are traditionally associated with gut integrity, bowel regularity, and internal balance. Mason’s Mushrooms also includes Shiitake (Lentinula edodes), which is traditionally used to support liver function and digestive health. This makes it ideal for those experiencing bloating, sluggish digestion, cramps, gas, or irregular stools. When used consistently as a mushroom powder supplement, these herbs help support a balanced digestive ecosystem.
Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) is known for its traditional use in supporting memory, cognitive function, and healthy nerve regeneration. It contains naturally occurring hericenones and erinacines that contribute to focus, clarity, and overall brain and nervous system health. Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), rich in triterpenes, is traditionally used to calm the Shen (spirit), ease nervous tension, promote emotional balance, and support deep, restorative sleep. Together, they help support the nervous system, improve mental clarity, reduce brain fog, and restore inner calm.
Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris) is traditionally used to support stamina, endurance, and energy production. It contains cordycepin, a compound traditionally linked to ATP production and improved oxygen utilisation. Paired with Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) and Agaricus (Agaricus subrufescens), Mason’s Mushrooms offers adaptogenic support for natural energy without overstimulation. It is especially supportive during burnout, fatigue, or post-exertion recovery.
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), Chaga (Inonotus obliquus), and Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) are traditionally used to support immune function and seasonal resilience. These mushrooms are rich in naturally occurring polysaccharides and beta-glucans, which are associated with immune system modulation. Mason’s Mushrooms provides these in a full-spectrum, 10:1 extract format using only wood-grown fruiting bodies. This makes it ideal during seasonal transitions, recovery, or periods of stress and immune depletion.
Beta-glucans are naturally occurring polysaccharides found in the cell walls of mushrooms. They have been studied for their role in supporting immune health and gut integrity. SuperFeast do not isolate or standardise beta-glucans, as doing so often requires a different extraction method that prioritises lab test results over traditional herbal outcomes. Most beta-glucans are poorly absorbed in isolation as they remain bound to fibrous mushroom material. They are often reintroduced into formulas as ground whole mushroom powder to alter lab results for marketing purposes. At SuperFeast, we honour beta-glucans as one part of the mushroom’s complete biochemical profile, alongside triterpenes, cordycepin, and other active compounds. Each mushroom is uniquely extracted using the time-honoured Huǒ Huǒ extraction process, to preserve potency. This results in a full-spectrum 10:1 medicinal mushroom extract - 10 kg of dried mushrooms become 1 kg of Mason's Mushrooms extract powder.
Fruiting bodies are the mature stage of the mushroom used in traditional herbalism, with over 2000 years of documented use. They contain a broad spectrum of active constituents such as polysaccharides, triterpenes, sterols, enzymes, phenols, and aromatic compounds. In contrast, mycelium is often grown on grain and harvested before full development, resulting in lower levels of key compounds and higher levels of grain residue. Mason’s Mushrooms uses only 100% wood-grown fruiting body extracts for purity, potency, and alignment with Taoist sourcing principles.
Mason’s Mushrooms is not certified organic. Instead, we go further by sourcing Dì Dào (地道) mushrooms - cultivated in their native environments, on hardwood, using traditional methods. Think champagne grapes grown in the Champagne region, with ideal soil, temperature, and environmental factors. While organic certification often requires industrial-scale cultivation to offset regulatory costs, Dì Dào ensures mushrooms are grown in pristine mountain regions, without chemical inputs, and in alignment with Taoist herbal principles. All SuperFeast mushrooms are third-party lab tested for pesticides, herbicides, aflatoxins, heavy metals, and microbial contamination, with Certificates of Analysis available for transparency and safety.
Huǒ Hòu (火候), translated as "fire timing" or "fire control," is a traditional Chinese extraction technique that meticulously controls the temperature and duration during the extraction process of herbs. This technique is an essential aspect of ensuring the highest potency and quality of herbal products. SuperFeast uses the Huǒ Hòu method to create a full-spectrum 10:1 extract that preserves the mushroom’s natural complexity - including triterpenes, beta-glucans, cordycepin, and polysaccharides - without compromising potency or energetic integrity.
Yes. Mason’s Mushrooms is designed to be used daily as a foundational tonic that supports multiple systems over time. It’s especially beneficial during stress, recovery, seasonal transitions, or periods of low energy and poor digestion. This adaptogenic mushroom powder can be stirred into hot drinks, broths, or smoothies. Consistency is key - long-term use helps build resilience and regulate the body’s stress response.

Q&A

Can i take with phsyc drugs loke lexapro and quitapanine
Hey KB, In terms of medication, we would recommend consulting with your doctor or practitioner before adding our tonic herbs or mushrooms to your daily routine. There are so many variables to consider and we don't have all the necessary information on various medications and potential interactions to be able to advise which of our herbs would or would not work for you. While we can't provide specific advice on herb-drug interactions, it's essential to consider the potential benefits of integrating herbs with pharmaceuticals. Herbs can enhance medication efficacy, reduce side effects, and support overall healing. We recommend consulting a healthcare practitioner who values both herbs and pharmaceuticals. Although some interactions may be adverse, many can be beneficial for symptom relief, strengthening the body during treatment, and aiding recovery afterwards. Thank you for understanding our position here. SF xx
Is this safe for people with leaky gut/gastritis
Thanks for reaching out! While we can't offer advice to treat or cure, we may be able to help alleviate some general symptoms you're experiencing and support you that way. Please contact our specialised customer service team via team@superfeast.com.au
Can you take while breast feeding?
Hey there, Thanks for your interest in our herbs. Please contact us at team@superfeast.com.au where our experienced customer service can answer your question in more detail. Thank you x
´Traditionally grown’…. From China??? Hard to believe it’s safe? Do you test for metals? Insecticides etc… what does traditionally grown mean, in china?
Hey Joanna, All our herbs are grown in the remote mountainous regions of China and in line with Di Dao principles, following the practices of small family run farms over thousands of years. Our products go through rigourous testing both in China and here in Australia to meet the standards of the TGA. Please contact us at team@superfeast.com.au if there is a particular product you're interested in and we can send you more information to help put your mind at ease x
Hi, is this low FODMAP? And low oxalate?
Hey there that's a great question! At SuperFeast, we specialise in herbal extract powders. Each of our herbs are medicinally prepared using either a single water, or dual water and alcohol extraction method. These extraction methods are very important to note when considering anti nutrients such as oxalates and lectins, as generally the concentration of these compounds are reduced significantly through the extraction process. Much the same way that the process of cooking or soaking foods high in these compounds reduces their overall concentration e.g. cooked kale contains lower levels or oxalates than raw kale etc. We do not test our products for their oxalate or lectin content as is most cases the amount present is negligiable. And yes, our products are FODMAP friendly. FODMAPS are generally highly water-soluble, this means that the natural FODMAP concentration present in our medicinal mushrooms is drastically reduced during the extraction process. Hope this helps! x
Can masons mushrooms be taken by breastfeeding women? Kids aged 18mo and 4.5? Thank you!
Hey Meaghan, yes Mason's Mushrooms can be taken when breastfeeding :) And yes, the little ones can take it too! For the 18 month old we would recommend 1/16-1/8th tsp (basically a pinch) and for a 4.5 year old we suggest 1/4-1 tsp :)
Hello, I was wondering what time of day you should consume Mason's Mushrooms?
Hey Lani, you can consume the herbs at any time of day that suits you :) we recommend starting with 1/4 tsp per day then building up to 1-2 heaped tsp per day until you find your sweet spot. You can take your entire dosage in one go, or you can split it up and take 2-3 times throughout the day - whatever best suits your rhythym and flow. Hope that helps! x
Can I give this to my dog. If so how much would I give her each day? She has pancreatitis
Hey Krystal! Yes we love Mason's Mushrooms for dogs. As a general rule, you can give animals a dose of SuperFeast herbs at 20 mg - 50mg per kilo of body weight. So for a 40kg dog you’d want to give them 1/8-1/2 tsp daily depending on the weight of the herb. In severe conditions, you can give your pet a larger dose of herbs for a shorter period of time (remembering that a tonic dose is a small amount daily over a lifetime). Your best bet when working wiith herbs is to consult with a veterinary professional or animal herbalist, especially if your pet is on any medications. x Sam
Hi can you take masons mushrooms when pregnant? Thanks
Hey Nel, When pregnant we only recommend Reishi and Eucommia Bark, as there is quite a lot of empirical use of these herbs in pregnancy in Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Daoist Tonic Herbalism. x Sam
Hi just received my first order which got here very fast. Husband wanted Shiitake which I ordered but in reading through the site, I ordered 50 g of Mason’s Mushrooms to try. Can the two be combined? Can he take one in the morning and one at evening time? Thanks
Hey Debi! So glad you received your herbs quickly. It is completely fine to combine the herbs, whether having them together or at seperate times of the day. Both Shiitake and Mason's Mushrooms are not necessarily herbs we would suggest for night time use though, especially if you or your husband have sensitive constitutions but either would be well received in the afternoon. x Sam
