Description

Cordyceps is the mushroom of choice for athletes - whether professional, semi-professional, casual, or beginner. It is widely utilised to promote stamina, relieve fatigue, and improve overall physical performance.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, cordyceps fortifies the Lung system for oxygen optimisation, and the Kidneys for deep, lasting energy. It nourishes Qi (daily vitality) and Yang Jing (active life-force), helping you meet the moment with clarity, power, and resilience.

In popular culture, Cordyceps is renowned for propelling Chinese middle-distance runners to multiple world records in the early 90s. The performance was so impressive that authorities immediately tested the team for banned substances, but none were found. It was just the power of Cordyceps.

So whether you're training hard, recovering slow, or simply feeling drained by life, Cordyceps is your steady companion - strengthening the breath, promoting vitality, and sparking enthusiasm and action.

Our 10:1 Cordyceps extract is made from vegan-grown Cs-4 mycelium, cultivated through a liquid fermentation process. This process creates a pure and fillerless product.

Cordyceps FAQs

Cordyceps extract powder is the athlete’s mushroom of choice, traditionally used in Chinese medicine to enhance energy levels, support physical performance, and nourish the Lungs and Kidneys - two organ systems associated with stamina, recovery, and breath. It’s also valued for helping the body adapt to stress, making it a natural ally for those rebuilding from fatigue or training with intensity. SuperFeasters reach for Cordyceps to support everything from endurance and resilience to respiratory strength and day-to-day energy.
Yes. Cordyceps has been used for centuries to support what modern users might call ‘performance longevity’. In Taoist tonic herbalism, it’s known for tonifying Kidney Yang and Lung Qi, which together support the cycle of physical performance and post-exertion recovery. Many athletes and breathwork practitioners use Cordyceps as part of their training or recovery stack, not merely for a spike of energy, but to cultivate lasting energetic capacity over time. It may also assist in rebuilding your baseline after periods of depletion.
We use a vegan Cs-4 strain of Cordyceps that’s grown in liquid fermentation tanks, not on grain or insect substrate. This process safely and respectfully replicates the energetic profile of wild cordyceps, minus the ethical or sourcing concerns. The extract is a 10:1 full-spectrum powder, retaining the full range of naturally occurring compounds. Compared to generic or grain-based options, SuperFeast Cordyceps offers a cleaner, more potent, and Dì Dào-aligned source of this sought-after mushroom.
Yes. Cordyceps is a tonic herb, which means it’s designed to be taken consistently over time. Rather than acting as a quick fix or stimulant, it gradually helps you build resilience, replenish your baseline (foundational) energy, and support your Kidney Jing and Lung Qi. Daily use may be especially beneficial for those navigating long-term stress, training cycles, or recovery from physical depletion. Always start with the recommended dose and observe how your body responds.
Cordyceps has a subtle, slightly earthy flavour that blends seamlessly into most drinks and meals. It very rarely overpowers other ingredients, which makes it easy to incorporate into a variety of formats — from tonic teas, smoothies and plant-based milks, to broths and even pre-workout elixirs. It’s also great with adaptogenic blends (like our own Mason’s Mushrooms) or stacked with other herbs that support energy and stamina.
Yes. While wild cordyceps grows from caterpillar hosts, our Cs-4 Cordyceps is 100% vegan, cultivated without animal products in a clean broth using a method designed to replicate the herb’s traditional energetic qualities. You get the benefits of traditional cordyceps mushroom powder, without compromising your ethics or needing to consume animal-derived fungi.
Absolutely. In Taoist medicine, Cordyceps is traditionally used to strengthen Lung Qi, which governs breath, voice, immunity, and the flow of oxygen through the body. This makes Cordyceps a great choice for people practising breathwork, engaging in endurance training, or seeking respiratory support during winter. Many users find that Cordyceps enhances their experience of breathing, both during exertion and at rest.
For best results, take Cordyceps powder in the morning or pre-training to support energy, breath, and physical performance. Some people also enjoy taking it in the afternoon to maintain stamina and avoid energy dips without the crash of caffeine. As a tonic mushroom, Cordyceps works best when used regularly over time.

Q&A

Hi Would this herb help with the urinary system at all?? Thanks
Hey Peter, thanks for your question. I will send you a response via email tomorrow, we have had a high number of enquires today. Big thanks, Mark
Did you guys just double your prices on cordyceps? I swear it only used to be like $30ish?
Hey Paris Thanks for reaching out. No we have not changed our pricing. A few years ago we used to offer 50g jars, this may be what you are remembering as they were around the $40 mark? However they have been discontinued for a while now. x Sam
I'm confused. Is this product made from the parasitic fungus that attacks many insects? I'm not worried about the safety of your product, but merely curious. If it is made from the fungus I mentioned before, how does this work in humans?
Hey Colin, Our SuperFeast Cordyceps is the exception to the rule when it comes to sourcing our herbs, the remainder of which are sourced and harvested in alignment with the practice of Di Dao. Wild cordyceps (sinensis) are rare and extremely expensive to source. Fully wild cordyceps consist of a blade-like mushroom body growing from the head of a caterpillar, which gives us a deeper understanding of why these mushrooms are so difficult to source wild. Due to the prohibitive cost of wild cordyceps, the Chinese developed a method in which to cultivate the cordyceps mycelium, which they grow in liquid fermentation tanks. The result is a pure mycelium product which is known as Cs-4, this is what we use at SuperFeast. A large body of research has demonstrated that Cs-4 has a very similar medicinal profile and level of active constituents to those found in wild cordyceps. Several years of compositional analysis as well as clinical trials have demonstrated that Cs-4 acts in a manner medicinally consistent with that of traditionally grown cordyceps. The term Cs-4 translates to mean the 4th strain of the cordyceps mycelium. Many strains of cordyceps mycelium have been researched and scientists have found that only the 4th strain of the cordyceps mycelium could be grown using liquid cultivation methods. This method produces effective levels of all the active constituents found in the fruiting body of wild cordyceps. x SF Team
is this powder or liquid how many doses per bottle/bag?
Hey Cory, Our herbs come as fully extracted powders. There are approximately 50 1/2tsp serves per 100g. You can find more information about our herbs and tons of great resources on our website. Much love from the SuperFeast team!
