Traditionally used to support cellular repair and renewal, helping the body restore integrity after stress, depletion, or illness.
Long-revered for reinforcing immunity, strengthening the innate defences that keep out common and seasonal threats.
Celebrated for its ability to support digestive function and balance the gut microbiome for long-term internal resilience.
Utilised by Ancient Taoists to nourish Lung Qi and resolve dampness, optimising the breath across the seasons.
Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) is the go-to immune modulator, rich in bioactive compounds that train the immune system, documented by traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and now trusted by Western clinicians. These compounds have been shown to activate key immune cells, specifically macrophages, dendritic cells, and Natural Killer (NK) cells, which clean up damaged cells and pathogens, indirectly supporting tissue health and recovery. It is a staple during winter seasons and environmental shifts, as well as everyday immune defence support.ย
This world-renowned mushroom activates the bodyโs natural defence mechanisms and promotes immune resilience. It also offers benefits for digestive and respiratory health, making it a powerful ally for enhanced vitality and a fortified foundation for long-term health.
Ancient Taoists prized the turkey tail fruiting body because it grew on evergreen pines (trees that were thought to hold deep yang energy within their roots). Thus, it was often prescribed in conditions of yang deficiency. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) classic texts often refer to its ability to dispel damp heat from the spleen and heat toxin, whilst supporting the upper respiratory tract, and increasing stamina. It is recognised as a Qi and Spleen, Lung and Liver supporting herb.
An adaptogenic mushroom with unmistakable flair, Turkey Tail gets its name from its colourful, overlapping fans that resemble the tail of a Turkey. Itโs one of the most prolific and studied medicinal mushrooms on the planet.ย
